Be proud of your mistakes. Well, proud may not be exactly the right word, but respect them, treasure them, be kind to them, learn from them. And, more than that, and more important than that, make them. Make mistakes. Make great mistakes, make wonderful mistakes, make glorious mistakes. Better to make a hundred mistakes than to stare at a blank piece of paper too scared to do anything wrong.

Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

life is funny

The saying “you never know what you have until it’s gone” has never seemed to be truer than it does this month. Collectively, Donny and I made the decision to relocate to Ann Arbor at the end of the month….and I’m sad.  I’m sad to be leaving Ohio, specifically Cleveland, and my community. I fell hard for Cleveland, mostly because I am one of those people who believes in the possibility of how great something can be. I WANT to stay and be part of the renaissance that is taking over the CLE!

And, my friends…I’m sad about all of life changes I’m going to miss. Life is meant to be celebrated and lived within community. My friends have become my family and I’m sad to be parting from them.

And He has said to me,‘My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness’. Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
